Tweaks for Tudor Rose
Matt from MD Electrical is brilliant at what he does. Matt wired the electrics for the fans and water pump in Tudor Rose and he also wired up the new CREE LED driving lights on Tudor Rose and the two Mercedes support vans. In all three vehicles we have fitted reversing cameras that are auto on as soon as the start key is turned. This will enable good rear vision at all times whilst driving.
An issue with the engine bay on Tudor Rose after the fitment of the electric fan was that the high volume of air could not escape freely and the louvered sides of the bonnet could not take the flow, so I did what I did across Mongolia, I took the sides of the bonnet off. I then had to put a plastic coated mesh in its place to stop people touching a hot engine or becoming entangled in the fan.
Finding a plastic coating company that would coat the mesh took two days of phoning around and searching the web and eventually I came across Queensland Heavy Duty Coatings-QHDC and Darrel was onto the job in a flash and eager to assist for the Ocean 2 Ocean Challenge OZ and the Kidney Kamper cause. Two days later I picked up the plastic coated bonnet sides and they fitted absolutely perfect. The cost…zero.
