The first two days of the Peking to Paris Rally
Day 1: Beijing to Hohhot
Long, long, LONG day. Great Wall ceremony then out of town with a brief off-road section then lots of tarmac to Hohhot. Rod did great. Me, not so much. Great day but suffered a migraine so night one ended early for me. More water.
Ended the day 13th in class.
Day 2: Hohhot to Erenhot Via the Grasslands
Insane rush hour departure from Hohhot- it’s everything you imagine – zero traffic rules. Then tarmac to Erenhot – but climbing hills. Think of it as a transit day. Ruby did so well, Rod drove well and I drank water and didn’t get us lost. Win-win.
Finished the day 12th in our class.
