Day 8 – Broken Hill – Narrabri – 965 kms
Early start for The Rattler as she heads for home!
After saying goodbye to the early risers in the carpark, The Rattler hit the road to start heading east for home. The cheeky old girl has been back up to her old tricks, and all of yesterday’s and the day before’s fixes don’t seem to have kept the temp down in the radiator.
You have to be a flipping detective to drive this car. Play a game of investigation, elimination and speculation to try and find a fix. Then, just when you think you’ve fixed the problem, something comes up somewhere else.
So when the engine started heating up this morning, when the outside temp was just 7 degrees centigrade, you could say that I was less than impressed! But I have to give credit where it’s due, because tonight I’m 965 kms closer to home!
It’s been a huge day and I’ve been on the road for the last 14 hours! So I’m turning in now, so I can get up nice and early and do it all again tomorrow!
