Day 13: Still Headed to Birdsville!
We’ve missed Birdsville races all together and last night we had to camp on the roadside, as we only made it a quarter of the way before it got too dark to drive through the dunes.
Today’s mission is to drive to Big Red and hopefully make camp at the base and try to conquer it tomorrow on our way to Quilpie (where we have accommodation organised). So fingers crossed tonight’s our last night camping in the desert. We are beginning to run low on supplies, it’s freezing at night and sweltering hot during the day and it is really taking its toll on all the crew…
