Australia – The Greatest Challenge
The more I think about the Ocean 2 Ocean OZ the greater the ‘Challenge’ becomes. This is going to be the most difficult of all challenges because of the extreme weather conditions, strong head winds across the Nullarbor, the minus night time temperatures and the possibility of high 30s across northern South Australia and Western Australia. This apart from fighting fatigue. Austen and I will use the 3-4 hours driving and then swap, timing some swaps with fuel stops to save down time.

For the o2o OZ it is imperative that maximum lighting is fitted. Across the Nullarbor for more than 1,000km, there are feral Kangaroos, Camels, Sheep, Wombats, Cattle, Emus and more that can inflict terminal damage to a car.
The LED lights on the visor were fitted for the O2O USA but were not sufficient to ‘see through rain’ and light up the road verge.
Rod has added a set of CREE LED’s on a bar quite low on the car. The CREE LED’s are a
combination of spot and spread beams which will light up the sides of the road so that we can keep a lookout for feral animals.
