27 hours to go!
The Rattler Run III is almost here. Tonight the crew got together for a final briefing.
We head off west from the Gold Coast at 5 am sharp on Friday morning. Before you know it, we will be out to Birdsville then up to Alice Springs through the desert. Then we head north and take a right turn somewhere in the middle of nowhere, en route to the lush Tropical Far North Queensland, where I’m really looking forward to taking the old girl up the legendary CREB Track.
In total, I will be driving The Rattler over 7,000 kms and if all goes well (touching some wood right now) the journey will take about 20 days, and will be the first boys trip to Cooktown without a fishing rod in sight!
So … buckle up! As usual, it’s gonna be a little bumpy.
